Pioneer Day Picnic, 2pm

On Sunday, July 20, we return to beautiful Fort Ward Park to celebrate Mormon Pioneer Day with an old fashioned picnic in the park. We plan to get things started at 2:00, and invite you to come join us anytime between 2:00 and 4:00 (but remember, the best food goes early!). Affirmation will be providing hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks, and condiments. You are encouraged (but not required) to bring along a desert, side dish, or other favorite picnic treat to share. This has been a popular event in the past, very laid back and relaxing, and we hope that you will be able to join us.
The picnic will be at Fort Ward Park, just off I-395 in Alexandria, in Area 5. Full directions from all points are in the July newsletter.

End of Summer Barbeque, 2pm

Our August activity is an “end-of-summer” barbeque at the home of Robert and Lani in Clifton, Virginia, on Sunday, August 17. Robert and Lani are Affirma¬tionDC’s unofficial “mission presidents” and an event at their home is always special. Robert and Lani will also be hosting our annual “family” Thanksgiving Dinner again this year. More details will be available at the July picnic and in next month’s newsletter. Plan now to be with us on Sunday, August 17.
